We are selling these scores on a licensing system, based on one used for many years by our colleagues, Fretwork Publishing (for which we are very grateful!) We ask the purchaser to state the purpose for which the music is required, in order to determine a fair price and to protect of copyright. If a single copy is required for personal use, we ask the purchaser to sign an agreement licensing the printing of a single copy of the file with an undertaking not to pass the file on to others. If multiple copies will be required, we calculate a figure which is a multiple of the same unit price but discounted according to quantity, and the license agreement states the agreed number of copies that may be printed.
This has proved to be a useful and economic way for choirs to purchase repertoire (and of course, there is also no postage to pay on digital publications). The system obviously depends on good faith, but has proved a successful way of highlighting and protecting copyright, which is at greater risk in digital publishing.
We are also asking that, if you record or perform these works in a public place that has a license from your location’s relevant performing rights organisation, you make sure the venue or the promoter notifies them properly. There is no additional cost to performers for this!!
You can work out the cost of your score using the tables below.
For example: Haec Dies
See basic prices using first table:
£3.75 per singer/conductor + cost for organ/viol ( £7.50 for organ score/£1.50 for Viol part)
Calculate discount using second table:
- 5-voice choir = £.18.75 ( £3.75 x 5) + cost for organ/viol
- 20-voice choir = £60 ( £3.75 x 20 – 20% discount) + cost for organ/viol
- 50-voice choir = £121.88 (£3.75 x 50 -35% discount) + cost for organ/viol
We will respond with an invoice, including the license wording below. On payment of the invoice and return by email that you agree to the terms of the license, We will send you the PDFs you require. We accept payment by PayPal; details provided on the invoice.
Below is a pricing schedule for performance scores for all the works on Lucrezia Borgia’s Daughter.
