A fully scripted drama with music based on the life of composing nun Lucrezia Vizzana. Detailed surviving records from the convent of Santa Cristina in Bologna tell graphically of investigations that took place during the 1620's revealing secret passions and open battles, struggles with church authorities and much ingenuity. These stories unfold alongside the lovely music of resident nun Lucrezia Vizzana and the composers who most influenced her including Monteverdi and Banchieri.
