Probably the most popular female composer from the 17th century, Barbara Strozzi never fails to delight audiences with the richness, and at times strangeness, of her harmonic language, the sheer sensuosness of her sinuous melodic lines and the wit and humour that she so well portrays.
From extended cantatas for solo voice to languishing duets and sparkling trios a number of programmes can be devised. Instrumental items also included.
